After Arriving in Canada
Settlement Information
Excellent sources of information about settling in Ontario are ontarioimmigration.ca and Settlement.Org,
a site managed by the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI). At these sites you will find information on a wide range of issues including community and recreation programs, education, healthcare, employment, language training, housing etc.
We highly recommend you review the guide, "Your First Days in Ontario", which has valuable information for planning your initial arrival in Ontario.
The Department of Citizenship and Immigration website also has a guide, "Information for Newcomers" with helpful information.
Banking in Canada
In particular, building a credit rating can be a challenge for newcomers to Canada. A prospective borrower's history of meeting financial obligations, or credit history, is an important consideration of Canadian financial institutions in deciding to extend credit.

Mail-In Card for Entrepreneurs
Newly landed entrepreneurs (EN), please fill in the Mail-In Card for Entrepreneurs after your arrival date and mail it to the Citizenship and Immigration Centre closest to your residence.
