Program Description:
BDC is Canada's business development bank. From 100 offices across the country, BDC promotes entrepreneurship by providing highly tailored financing, venture capital and consulting services to entrepreneurs.
BDC's services are:
- BDC Financing - Financing solutions such as term loans to buy equipment, a business, or to secure commercial real estate through the various stages of your business development such as start-up, expansion, maturity or transition.
- BDC Venture Capital - BDC is active at every stage of the company's development cycle, from seed through expansion, with a focus on technology-based businesses that have high growth potential and that are positioned to become dominant players in their markets. As a major venture capital investor in Canada, BDC has to date invested in more than 400 companies involved in the areas of Life Sciences, Telecommunications, Information Technology and Energy, Environment, Electronic & Materials (EEEM).
- BDC Subordinate Financing - Hybrid instrument combining elements of both debt financing and equity financing, which is offered to more mature businesses with excellent growth potential. Subordinate financing is often associated with management buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and working capital for growth.
- BDC Consulting - Customized business consulting services delivered through a national network of professional consultants and designed to help Canadian entrepreneurs succeed. BDC consultants may help you to plan and manage your business, develop markets, improve efficiency, manage human resources, innovate, or sell your business.
