Ontario will continue to implement measures to manage expenditures, including compensation restraint and making government programs more efficient. The 2010 Ontario Budget lays out a plan to cut the deficit in half in five years, and eliminate it in eight years.
In the fiscal year 2010-11, the Ontario government is projecting total expense of Cdn$125.9 billion against revenue of $106.9 billion and a reserve of $0.7 billion with a $19.7 billion deficit.
