Ontario's Fiscal Management

2010 Ontario Budget

Ontario is moving forward with its five-year plan to open Ontario to new jobs and growth while outlining measures to help eliminate the deficit caused by the global recession. Ontario will continue to implement measures to manage expenditures, including compensation restraint and making government programs more efficient. The 2010 Ontario Budget lays out a plan to cut the deficit in half in five years, and eliminate it in eight years.

In the fiscal year 2010-11, the Ontario government is projecting total expense of Cdn$125.9 billion against revenue of $106.9 billion and a reserve of $0.7 billion with a $19.7 billion deficit.
